The Joker Psychology:
Evil Clowns and the Women Who Love Them

Another installment in the Popular Psychology series edited by Travis Langley, The Joker Psychology examines the psyche of one of the most infamous supervillains of all time. This book pays special attention to relational dynamics, to include those between Harley Quinn and Mistah J.

Dr. Hintz co-authored two chapters in The Joker Psychology, highlighting some unique characteristics of one of her all-time favorite characters. In “Horror: A Clown at Midnight,” Dr. Hintz collaborated with Dr. Travis Langley and Dr. Eric Wesselmann to highlight some of the more grotesque and terrifying elements of the crown prince of crime. In “Therapy: Can Counseling Cure the Clown,” Dr. Hintz contributed commentary about the potential efficacy of existential-phenomenological therapy with both Joker and Harley Quinn.
